Why We Collect Information

Encouraging visitors who may be interested in our products and services to visit the web site is crucial to eMarketing, and is in fact our core competency. In common marketing parlance, we seek to "drive traffic to our web site." So, like many companies, we engage in advertising and promotional activities that will encourage you to visit the site.

For audit purposes, such as validating a business listing, we record the IP address and other identifying information of the user session, for the user that edits the business listing. In this way, if someone makes a fraudulent entry in an attempt to cause harm to ourselves or one of the businesses listed in the directory, we have some user data to share with law enforcement officials.

If you choose to unsubscribe or otherwise remove your information from our list, our system ensures that you are truly opted-out. We give that control to you, because we feel that it is your right to decide who you give permission to contact you. We strive to achieve this level of opt-out compliance and trust among all our customers.

Note that though we make every effort to preserve your privacy, we may need to disclose contact information when required by law, when such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process served on our website.

What Information We Collect

You may fill out a contact form on our web site or if you visit from a mass-mail campaign you may discover that we already have your contact information on file. You may update or delete this information yourself.

We may also ask you for subscription preferences so that we may send you information that suits your interests, at the notification frequency that you have selected.

The EireBiz.com web site(s) also track visitors to specific pages, to see which pages are most popular and what the click-paths are through our site. Anonymous tracking IDs, called cookies, are used to separate out the traffic patterns of individual visitors. We cannot identify you from these cookies. Business and organisational listing services are provided at no charge, unless you elect to upgrade to a paid listing. Our free services are offered with the understanding that you are entering into a simple business relationship with EireBiz.com whereby you provide information about your business and we publish that information.

You may elect to add your email address or fax number to your free listing. In order to protect you from spam and to protect our database from unfair data extraction, we do not display email or fax data. However we do charge a nominal fee to allow site visitors to access your email or fax record via return SMS (mobile phone text messaging).

We offer the following exchange of consideration for those businesses and organisations that add their email and fax data to their free listing:

1. We agree to publish listings containing email or fax ahead of other free listings, so that such listings receive priority placement.
2. You agree that we may contact you with offers from ourselves or our affiliates or clients, at a rate not to exceed one single email per week.
